main bearings swap
well today we cracked open my d16z6 to find out that the reason for my minor rod knock was beacuse one of my main bearings was completely worn and warped it didnt even fit back in the journal all the way is that normal to have only one really bad bearing wouldnt they all be bad? but we check rest were fine as well as were the rod bearings. so since the car is parked anyway we are going to replace the main and rod bearings me and my friend are pretty new at this but he heard that you can drop the tranny to partially drop the crank and slide the new main bearings in with out completely removing the crank(the motor is still in the car by the way) anyone ever heard of this method or have any ideas as to how we can replace the mains without completely removing the crank? Also if my rod bearings are yellow does that mean the mains are also yellow or is there another code i need to check the block and crank for? thanks guys
