FINISHED : B16 swap... PROBLEMS>HELP
O.K. I just swaped in my B16 into my 91' civic HB. Runs o.k. but feels like it could be better but I'm feeling and seeing things that concern me and don't feel right. First it's a OBD1 B16 BUT I changed the dizzy , injectors , main harness and ECU to be run as a OBD0 motor. First problem VTec kicks in at exactly 5,000RPM ( as per my autogauge tach says ) in every gear is this LOW for s stock PR3 ECU . ALso when I"m in like 2nd and sometimes first gear at low RPMs and just mash the gas it feels like it's missing or mis-firing right before VTec or just under ? What could the problem be I'm using my old JDM DOHC ZC injectors for now since they were the only OBD 0 injectors I had lying around could this be a problem I thought most honda injectors were the same either Peak Hold or sachuraded ? My friend has a OBD1 B16 and he said his was doing exactly what mine is and his ECU was bad he got a new ECU and it has since been fine ?
Also My fans were wired up wrong and didn't kick on the first test run and the car started to over heat.... the ECU threw a ECT ( engine coolant temp sensor code ) I figured maybe since it was a OBD 1 ECT sensor it was the problem.. I put in a OBD 0 ECT sensor and have the fans running consitant power when key is on and the needle on my stock gauge shows that the motor is slightly over heating like 3/4's of the way up but as soon as I turn on my heat it drops down where with the old OBD1 sensor nothing happened when I kicked the heat on the temp didn't change. HERE's the thing could maybe the sensor for the gauge be reading wrong since it's a OBD1 sensor and just giving me a false reading. I"m going to try to switch it out for a OBD0 sensor today and see what happens cause it take a long time of driving and ******* it for the gauge to start to move up high. I have heat so I know my Thermo stat is opening. Thanks for any help

On a PR3 VTEC engages at ~5100 rpm so you're fine.
I believe at the x-over you will see the engine lag or bog for a split second. On my air/fuel meter occasionally I see the engine go lean for an instant. Personally I'd get a set of CRX Si injectors cleaned and balanced and throw those in so you don't have any downtime.
Use the ECT for the ECU. On my PR3 I'm using a D15 ECT, it works fine. If your fans are on all the time or off all the time you need to switch over the thermoswitch on the back of the block. Again, CRX Si thermoswitch works fine, and so does a D15. Your engine should not run as hot as it is. Try changing your thermostat and bleeding your coolant.
