Default fields v-tec

any body run a fileds v-tec controller and have the rev limiter kick @ about 5500 r'swhen you getting into the v-tec,it throws a check engine code 22,v-tec failer;or what not,not a big deal, only when i want to get into the vtec and the rev limiter kicks in, kind of suck, because i have to restart my car to reset the vtec controller,my local shop installed it and cant work out the bug>>>

What are the settings on the controller? Sometimes it doesn't like to be adjusted past 4% or the vtec more than 400 rpm.
I've had that problem many times. I just hold the button down to turn it off (not the on/off switch on the back) not worth the hassle that dumb thing.

I had mine set to 4400 (mugen ecu has it at 4700) so adjustment was 300.
And I had no more than 3% of air/fuel adjustment. And i still would have problems.
I think my issue was that the rpms were waaay off on my unit. so when i was at 7000 rpm realtime
the fields would read 8000+ and it would shut my car down at 7000 realtime.

I have since turned it off and haven't had any problems .

try this site and check your jumpers on the back of the fields to make sure they haven't
been tampered with.

yea have them check out the wiring and make sure the dipsticks on the back are correct for your car. also set everything to stock and see what happens...

when i had my on i set my at 4300 my vtec kicks in 5200 i think. but anyways when you got two device opperating a vtec theres gonna be problem and confusion on when should vtec kick in. so what i did was took that wire that connects from the vtec selinoid and connect to the controller. that solved my problem.
