are you referring to the spindle nut on the axles? if not, and you're referring to the bolt that bolts the shock to the lower control arm, then after taking the nut off the bolt, you hit the bolt with a ratchet to as far as it can go. after that, just pull and spin the bolt to get it off.
Which side did you get the nut off? Depeneding on how old the car is, the bolt may be seized in the sleeve that runs through the lower part of the strut & LCA. I would reccommend purchasing an extra bolt in the case that you break the head off the bolt or end up having to cut it out & replace it. Good luck, as this is one of the biggest problems that I've run into on my car. I broke both sides off w/ a breaker bar.

If you're talking about the bolt that connects the LCA
to the brake hub. Then after you take the nut off, just
hit the end that you took the nut off with a hammer so the
head of the bolt goes out. Then use a rachet and a
wrench. Put the wrench behind the head of the bolt, and
while your pulling the bolt farther out, use the rachet
to turn the bolt simultaneously. This should work fine.
That's if we're talking about the same bolt. Hope this
helps you.
