Default Fidanza 8 lbs flywheel

Do you think shifting at 8500 rpms with a 8 lbs fidanza flywheel in a b16 will drop past vtec since its so light? Nothing is done to the motor other than i/h/e and when the flywheel goes in the clutch will to.

Thanks for any help. sorry for posting it here, I know its the wrong forum, i wouldve deleted it but it was the first post on this page. My fault

What's wrong with revving to 8k?

All you need is some valve springs and retainers

Duh i know, but you also need valves too. I am looking to go N/a so i know what you need top end to have a high revving motor last. But yeah, who street races everyday?

WTF? a light flywheel will have nothing to do in where the rpms drop...
And you dont need nothing for a b16 to rev to 8000, even 8300....b16, besides b16b; rev monster

Actually a lighter flywheel will gain rpms faster and also drop them faster which can cause you to drop out of V-tec. I know you dont need anything for a b16 to rev at 8000 but it would be much safer with valves, retainers and springs.

Actually, it doesnt matter if the revs fall faster, lol, you loose a little of momentum, thats all.shifting at 8000, will make the rpms drop at the same spot; light flywheel or not.
a flywheel will not change gear ratios nor final drive; and if you didnt know thats the deciding factor on where the rpms will be at certain speed at certain gear.
And for your information, you can rev a b16 to 8000 all its life and be fine.
Getting retainers, springs and valves will not make your engine safer if you plan in keeping stock rev limit...of course unless you misshift a lot...
And to add, putting stiffer springs put more loads on your valvetrain and TI retainers gall after like 15k miles.

I thought that since its so light it doesnt catch as well thats why it drops?idk I have heard people before talking about their revs dropping out of vtec with a lighter flyweel, thats why I asked
