i recently swapped a itr into my eg hatch. i ran it at the strip and my poweer steering belt snapped. I found that the wheel on the pump is not in line with the wheel at the crank. What has caused this and how can i solve the problem.

I have been driving with no power steering for about 3 weeks now and the steering seems to have gotten alot lighter? Is this normal?

Also i am using a p28 with skunk2 chip. Has anyone ever had problems with this? Cos the other day my engine check light came on and i didnt have a jumper wire to check the code so i pulled out the back up fuse and the lights gone now.
