Default Falken Azena Install (Pain In The ****)

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up. Bought the tires, got them shipped for $282. Got a killer deal and great service from www.vulcantire.com .
Went to a local gas station to put them on. Friend of mine owns the station so I used the machine there during a lunch break. The freaking sidewall of the tire is too damn stiff and to put them on a stock 15 inch wheels is a pain in the ***. It took two peaple to put on that tire using all kinds of tricks and gadgets lol. Just wanted to give people out there a warning out there in the road racing land.

they are pretty stiff. It gets easier mounting the second set. I just put 2 new ones on my rotas last weekend. It might have taken me 10 min. to do both as it took me an hour to get the first set on. A good mounting machine helps too.

I had no problem mounting mine. It helps that we had the right machine, cost about 10K. If you were doing them at a local gas station they probably had an old steel wheel machine( ).

It was worth the pain in the ***, I briefly tested the tire throught a sharp on ramp and all I can say is "DAMN". I have went threw a lot of tire in my life and I have never felt the feeling of the car not even budging, I have koni shocks with H&R springs and the car just went threw the turn at full throttle with no problem. I will have to put some more miles on the tire before actually testing them out on some S curves by my house. I think I am ready for some road racing.

Tinkerbell,
Dont try to encourage me to do 80mph+ off the ramps going onto the highway. LOL Lets just hope these tires can grip in the snow, lol. A fug it, I dont drive my car in the snow anyway.

LOL!

we are in a DROUGHT down-under, last time i drove in rain (if i could call it that) was 4 months ago!

we need rain badly here, our lawns are brown, and there are constant bushfires...

sure it is great for me and my "semi-slicks" but damn i wish it wern't so

t..

PS make sure you break the tyres in before trying anything silly,

and make sure you have some HEAT in the tyres as well, it is pretty scary going hard into a tight corner cold!!!!

The Azenis suck in the snow. I took atripto upstate NY last weekend. As I was passing through PA I encountered some snow. There couldn't have been more than just a dusting and my car was all over the place at 50mph, I was scared. Get someall season and save those Azenis for the summer.

If you think the falkens on stocks is hard wait till you try mounting the re 010's for the later nsx's on the 17 inches with there low profile and rock hard sidewall thats a bitch. A kickass tire machine can make all the difference but still its a bitch so easy to screw up a rim Enjoy the tires

im planning to get a set of falken azenis on 16" rota circuit 8's, i heard that the azenis tend to wear out a little fast compared to other tires. **what are your guys experiences with them? thanks

they wear out faster b/c they stick better. it's a tradeoff between tire life and traction.
