Default failed smog in cali

first i went to smog the bitch i got these numbers
at 15 mph
hc 113 max allowed were 61
co 0.51 max " " 0.54
nox 2072 max allowed 467

at 25mph
hc 29 max 45
co 0.49 max 0.53
nox 966 max 754

second time --

OK, I changed the cat with a new carsound cat and put in some of that denaturized alcohol, put the timing back 2 degrees, got new plugs
and

you know what, I hate california's smog laws
I passed the nox part with flying colors but

hc and co2 levels went sky high

new numbers are

15mph test
GAS- MAX - MEASURED
HC - 61 - 170
CO - 0.54 - 2.44
NO - 467 - 43

25MPH TEST
HC - 45 134
CO - .53 1.85
NO - 754 32

PLEASE HELP
can i figure this out with out breaking bank

Since your below on the nox, advance the timing. Sparking earlier will get a better burn. How is your air filter looking? You can alos clean out your intake and such, that'll drop the emissions a bit. Also, you can run 89 octane. It'll also burn better. Just run the tank down to E and then fill it up with a little 89 or 87. After fill it back up with what ever you use.

high CO due to a rich air/fuel mixture .
causes: high fuel pressure, leaking fuel injector, dirty air filter.
high CO can also cause high hc.
run 91 octane.
make sure you don't go the smog station when 100degF outside.

He can't be running too rich because his NOx is over 2k.
The CO isn't very high it's still less than 1%
CO is function of HC combustion, so CO can't cause high HC.
so you like to call yourself numbnut eh?
Wherever you learned your information about engine combustion IS WRONG.
If you want to give advice, please make sure you know what you're talking about.
Otherwise, just read and ask questions like everyone else.

clean your throtle plate
replace your PCV valve
if you can get one of those apex air fuel controllers my buddy got one, and used it to pass smog.
change your distributor cap and rotor, if necessary

what other mods does your engine have?
specifically, are you running some kind of header other than the stock exhaust manifold?

Get hotter Spark Plugs (2 steps like a 4E)
Lower Fuel Pressure
Make sure you go with a clean change of oil for engine AND tranny!
Should get you to 1.5 SOHC emission readings
