Default Failed Emissions Test

My car failed the e-check yesterday.

Results:

______Actual_____Limit
HC____159.6_____141.0___FAILED
CO ____4.14______0.79___FAILED
NO ____262______1026___PASSED

My car/mods:

94 ls 5 speed, 130k miles
-short ram intake
-chipped/socketed ECU running a basemap
-skunk2 IM
-crower 403's
-type-r full exhaust with catco cat

After doing some research, I'm pretty sure it's running rich. I'm assuming it's my basemap that's making it rich. If I run a stock ECU just for the test, would that help? I'm guessing the cat is OK because of the low NO levels.

Also, the car was driven straight there, about 3 miles (I know it should have been driven farther).

A buddy mentioned dumping a bunch of alcohol in the tank to make it run cleaner, but that makes me a bit nervous.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Get the stock ecu. or modify one map for less fuel at the test's rpm range.

Avoid the temptation of using alcohol. Might have affects down the road.

Also set your timing to spec and or take timing away can help too.

Alright, I'll run the stock ECU.

Do you think putting on the stock intake would help lean it out?

What? the stock intake flows less air so it should richen it up. However the ECU will compensate. I would try it as is. You just need to get the HC's down. When you do this the CO will drop too.

Don't go to far, with less HC's your Nox number will start to rise.

Alright, I won't put that on then. Thanks for the advice.
