Default explain vtec!!!!

yes i have searched forever!!! but all the sites talk in this jibberish language meant only for ppl who already understand it! all i could get out of it was something to do with a pin and the cams.... can somebody plz explain!!!!!

There are 2 cam profiles on a VTEC cam. There are also 3 lobes per cylinder on the cam. The two outer lobes have a very mild profile that is good for economical daily driving. At a certain RPM level, a pin will lock the two outer lobes to the more aggresive middle lobe for a more agressive profile, and more power.

Cliff notes: At a certain RPM level, the engine switches to a more agressive cam profile.
