Here is a discussion on "side branch resonators". It looks like it works by canceling out sound waves. It involves T'ing into your exhaust with an extra pipe that is a "calculated" length, then capping the end of the pipe off to allow the sound waves to reflect back. I was wondering if anyone here has tried this.
