Default Erradic Electrical Problems With Cluster and ELD

my friend and I just finished tossing in a ZC in his HF. we're now gettin a weird erradic electrical problem with the cluster. the gauges sometimes work then all of the sudden they stop. we'll get a CEL even though the ECU LED doesn't flash. we're also getting a #20, it goes away at times. we've replaced the ELD/fusebox already. we've checked most of the grounds and they seem ok. we're going to take the dash out to see if that's grounded correctly but we'd like to get some input from some others since we're kinda stumped why everything other than the speedo cuts in and out. (yes we're aware the speedo wouldn't cut out because of the cable VSS)

TIA

Default Erradic Electrical Problems

well we added a few bare metal grounds and checked all the rest and they were grounded properly. we got rid of the #20 LED but the erradic problem with tach/temp/fuel and CEL with no ECU LED still exist. tried 4 different ECU's with no luck. we've tried calling everyone to ask and no one has ever had or heard of this problem. has anyone here ever experienced getting a CEL but no LED? if so, how did you fix this?

thanks
