my buddys got a Crx with a B-16 in it recently installed ...harness from dpfi to mpfi was made ...and this is what tis doing

any ideas ...i havent got over to his house to check it out yet...just looking for some insight on it

sounds like ignition related.

 

That's definitely ignition related.. one time when I was playing around with ecu chips, I ended up putting the one it had been running back in and it threw the engine light and wouldn't rev past 4k with no power at all but then it went away

K20EG PMed me and he said it was throwing the distributer code...

 

May want to check the timing belt. I had this problem on my h22a swap. Redid the timing (especially the balance shafts) and the problem went right away.

your ECU is in limp mode. One of the inputs for the ecu is not reading correctly. Could be ignition timing related.

 

does it idle funny at all or is it normal?

 

recheck the wiring for the map and TP sensor. Also make sure that the vaccuum line for map is hooked correctly. It sounds like the ECU is operatinng Fuel cut mode.

I highly doubt that it is an ignition problem because your not complainning of a misfire, jerking, nor and symtoms that relates to ignition faults. However, it sure does not hurt to check any ways.
