i just finished putting a first gen b16 into my 89 crx dx... did all the mpfi stuff.. now she will not rev past 3k... it back fires really loud too at 3 grand... anyone got any ideas...

The ECU is running in limp mode so you are no doubt throwing a few codes. Cherck the codes, then troubleshoot them.

check ur timimg make sure they are correct .... if u dont know how to check the timing..there s another way to check it out .,.. start the engine and reving to 3k rpm then turn the engine off without let the rpm going down then pull out the spark plug and see what the color it is... if it s blackish then u have the wrong timing
better to fixing it before it ruin ur beautiful motor~! ! ! ! this just remind me like my mimi-me i try to fix it eveything but havent check the timing..

i had the same problem with a P28 and a C1 swap. it would fuel cut at 3500. turns out to be a messed up ECU. swapped with a known good ECU and problem solved.
