Default engine swap info

I have a 95 civc w/ a base engine, not vtec. I'm looking into an engine swap. Money is not really an issue, i mean it is but i don't want to spend like over 6 g's on a new engine. People have been talking about spoon engines from Japan, and i heard that they weren't good for daily driving, and another thought was to go with a b18c engine, cause that has like 200 bhp and would costl ike 4grand, and i'm also considering putting a little more money into it, and changing the chassis and everything and putting a v6 in there, and see what happens with that. I've got a lot of ideas, i just don't know the pros and cons of each type of engine. I'd appreciate the help.

If money is not a factor, get an S2000 engine, and change the car to rear wheel drive. Otherwise, just get a B18C1 or B18C5 and drop it in there, save alittle money and boost it. With a boosted GSR or Type-R engine in a Civic, the HP:wieght ratio is pretty sick.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

Okay, this topic has been covered hundreds of times......

V6 = 20,000 dollars, too much modification and no streetability (legalities suck).

H22 (prelude) Best torque however, minimal aftermarket support.

B18C5 (The Type R) Expensive, you will spend 6000 getting it and installed. 165 whp (wheel horsepower) stock

B18C1 (Integra GSR) 5,000 installed and 145-150 whp stock

he cant put an s2k engine in for less than 6g jesus
im sick of people saying they want to swap a stook into their civic and people reccomending it. my god THE ENGINE ISNT EVEN THAT AMAZING! for the money you can just put a fully built b series in and turbo the **** out of it.

anyway, for 6g~?
b18c1 and build it before it goes in
pistons, cams, clutch, flywheel.

I knew money was an issue but he said he didn't want to spend over $6K on the engine. He didn't say that was the limit to his total funds!

The only reason I recommended the S2K engine swap is because it has more torque and HP than the B18C5, plus the 6 speed gear box. Plus it's rare. I've seen tons of Type-R and GSR Hybrids, but how many S2000 Hybrids have you seen? If you've seen any, the number is probably close to 1 or 2. I'm not flaming, I'm just giving the guy options.

Jason-

PS. I do like this idea though.

so the best bet would be to drop a b18c5 engine in. Then turbo or supercharge it
i want to trick it out, so that everyone turns heads. but at the same time i want the engine to also gain some attention. The only reason i thought bout the v6 is cause when u get into a real muscle car, you can feel the engine, and w/ a v6 in a civic, i thought it might do something similar, but i guess i'll go ahead and put the integra type r engine in. After that i'll turbo it and then go racing. Thanks for the help

so for a grand, you can get 30 horses, and a better engine. sounds like it would be worth it to go with the b18c5. Are there any other engine companies, cause i only know a few, and i'm not too familiar with this kinda stuff.
