Sure you can . . . . but why?

By the way - it's probably illegal (not supposed to use an engine older than the car).

Also, you might get better results asking in the Hybrid forum.

if you have enough time and money, you can swap anything...but like daemione said why?...something newer like an i-vtec would be more beneficial

Because, the cost factor goes way down when you buy on older motor. Like, I can get a 00' Type R motor for $4800. There is no way in you know what I can get an i-Vtec for less than that. Even a new Si motor from the deformed new Civic will not be cheaper....
