engine swap

Re: engine swap
why? what are your expectations? goals?
it's better to find something you like (by researching) and then asking if it's a good idea. what are the pros and cons? what's similarly priced but maybe a little better?
that's a bit relative. what is "pricey" to you? unless your current motor is blown, you're not really making a swap/build worthwhile for less than $1.5~2k. yes you can buy a swap for less I'm sure, but you'll want to freshen up the motor (new belts, seals, tune-up parts ect.) maybe throw some power-adders at it. then you'll have other odds and ends to make it work- mounts, axles, shifter.
anyway, a pricey swap to me is anything over $5k to get it in and running and drivable. i'm sure that's chump change for others, but that just supports my point.
so like the other guys said, research.
