Engine Sputters and idles low during rain.
Ok heres the story.
Everytime it rains, or i run through a puddle of water, Since i have no splash guards, water ends up all over the engine bay. So what part of the ingnition system could water be getting on, causing it to sputter and idle close to dying out. As soon as it stops raining, and i drive for 1 minute its fine again. Now its a brand new cap and rotor. so i doubt water is getting in the distributor.
But i do have a external coil.
Possibly my ghetto internal to external coil wiring? Or old sparkplug wires? Their Autolites, about 5 months old
Its a H22a1 in a 92 civic hatch.
what usually would cause that when it rains. and water gets in the bay.

You arent turbo, you dont need an ignition upgrade. Go back to stock.

My mistake. Check the inside of the dizzy for obvious signs of water, re-qire your coil, check for bare wires anywhere in the bay.

nope, no CAI its not sucking water its definately ingnition being affected by the water.
I put a new dizzy on from a friend of mine. going to try that for a little.
If it still does it, im going to try my friends internal coil JDM dizzy.
To see if its the external coil gettn wet.
