Default Engine Rebuild & Storage Times

i've got a B16 engine, block, head, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, TB, injectors, everything for £150 UKP.

I'm planning on building this up N/A and swapping it into an EF civic but i wont be putting this engine in for about 6 months or so.

I'm wondering if i can just leave the head, block etc knocking around whilst i 'bling' it up and rebuild it (it'll be in my house).. it shouldn't rust should it? or should i lightly cover it with oil and cling-film when i'm not working on it?

thanks in advance for any replies!

You should coat it with some oil like liquid wrench or something. It will rust otherwise and you wont be happy. As for covering it up i would just lay it on something clean and when not working on it cover it with a clean garbage bag, but dont make it air tight where condisatition can form. Hope this helps.

oh btw i don't have a garage so the engine is sitting in my bedroom! lmao! it should be ok there shouldn't it?

Having a B16 in your room is like a piece of art, a sculpture... a masterpiece!

Nothing better than waking up to the sight of a B16 at the foot of the bed lol
