Default Engine rattle

Hi I have a weird noise coming from my engine bay..

http://www.fileden.com/files/2...6.WAV

please let me know what you think... its that noise which makes the car sound like a diesel engine... its a rattling grinding sound...

and also the car is stock... just had the timing belt.. tensioner.. retainer seals all replaced by Honda as well... The noise was captured in the right wheel arch... so near the tranny/clutch area

any ideas?

If you could host the video on a site that doesn't require to register or fill things out would be much better. Everyone could then see and you would have much better feedback.

is your car a 5speed? if it is , is there less noise with the clutch pushed in? if so ,your throwout bearing is bad. if its worse with the clutch in it could be the input shaft bearing

Is it a high mileage engine? If it is it could just be pinging right? My Civic has 190K miles and it does it when i use unleaded. I started using super and it went away. I'm just guessing though. Let me know if i'm wrong guys.

hey thanks for the feedback... Its a b18c7 engine... I do know that my clutch needs replacing... however with the clutch pedel depressed.. the noise is still there... it has roughly 100000 miles on it as well... someone else said that it was a throwout bearing but this noise is happening when the car is just stationery... does the bearing still turn when its stationery?

yes the throwout bearing turns constantly while the clutch is let out so if it were me i would go ahead and pull the tranny, do a clutch flywheel and replace all your bearings and the rear main seal so you dont have any leaks
