i have a stock 95 integra ls and after i got in an accident ive been hearing a sparatic ticking noise coming from the engine, it sounds like it is coming from the head but im not sure, it isnt coming from the bottom end either, its not a knock, and if i rev the engine past about 4,500 RPM the ticking noise goes away, but as soon as it drops down below about that, it comes right back, its pretty loud too

any idea what this problem could be?

 

maybe a cracked exhaust mani?

 

Not sure with your car model but it may be a broken exhaust manifold or maybe something on its engine parts. I usually find Mercedes aftermarket parts for replacements on mine. Aftermarket parts are cheaper than stocks. Just ensure that it has a good quality

 

How many miles are on the engine? Maybe you need a valve adjustment.
