Default Engine Overheating Need Help

Ok so one night when i got off work I was driving home(about 2 miles). About halfway home my temp gauge started reading warm 120+ degree's C. So I took it easy and got the car home. The next day I checked everything out and I had a cracked bypass hose going from the thermostat housing to the intake manifold. It was the big on going to the intake manifold flange. So I decided while I was changing that I would get a OEM thermostat and change that just for the hell of it. So tuesday the dealer had everything in and I installed the new bypass hose and thermostat. Drained, Flushed and refilled/bleed the coolant system. I also changed the oil(no coolant in it). So I start driving the car and it still has the same problem.

If I take it easy on the car and dont boost. It will run normal but still fluctuate between 90-100 degree C. Before It would take forever to heat up and when it did I never got past 100 degree C. But now if i get on it and build even a little bit of boost the temp gauge goes up like its a damn rocket. Just today I drove for about 10 miles and it was fine. I get on it once in 3rd gear and the gauge starts rising like hell. So I back off and a couple miles down the road its down but still high 110 degrees C.

So my question is could I have a blown headgasket? The car was find before this bypass hose cracked. The car ran perfect and it never overheated. I also changed the oil yesterday and there was no coolant residue in it. Now ive flushed the system once and bleed the system yesterday and today. Now my setup is an LS/Vtec with a rev hard stage 2C kit on it. The motor only has about 2500 miles on it since we rebuilt it last time. If anybody could help or give me some leadway into what could be causing this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Sal

Awhile back me and a friend put a greddy turbo on his si and it would overheat cause the fan wouldn't turn on. He installed a switch that jumps the two wires together, if it was mine I would've put a new relay in it. With the fan off his will overheat just driving in traffic, but he can cruise on down the highway without it. Let me know if this helps.

My guess is you are leaking compression directly to the cooling system. It only needs to be at one point so you would not necessarily get oil in there too. The hose on the intake may have cracked due to high temps or high pressure from the leak, not been the cause of the coolant loss or high temps itself. Could also be a crack in the head.

Do a compression test, but I would replace the radiator before I go pulling the motor apart.

Ok i have a custom pusher fan setup because one fan will fit between my fluidyne radiator and the turbo. Now I know I dont have a cracked head because the coolant was leaking from the hose really bad. But now there is no coolant lose. I talked with one of my friends and he thinks the water pump could have gone bad. Could this be a possibility if temps where to reach 250+ degrees F.

Also the hose was the cause of the coolant lose. I had about a half gallon of coolant when i drained the system when i replaced the hose. I have filled it back up and now it is still completely full. No leaking what so ever. Im going to try and run without a thermostat and see if that helps. If not ill just replace the water pump and see if that is the culprit.

Get a pusher fan or a larger radiator.....if you just rebuilt your swap and did it correctly and you never let anything overheat their should not be anything wrong with the gasket
