My buddy just got home today and fired up his 2000 civic ex. It sounded like crap and when he gave it gas it would putter almost as if it was dumping fuel like crazy or a misfire. We checked the code and it wound up to be a misfire in the #2 cylinder. We tried swapping plugs that didnt help. I was thinking the wires next. We havent tried swapping out wires yet but if this is that solves this disturbance what could it be? What could cause a misfire other than these 2 things i mentioned unless there was some kind of serious enginge damage somehow. Thanks

 

Check the distributor for signs of wear or damage and make sure all the wires are in tact and connected properly.
