So heres the issue. After driving it for awhile on a basemap, I heard what I thought was detonation (the ticking noise). After getting the car professionally tuned, I still hear that noise when I put the engine under moderate load but does not seem to effect the performance of the engine. I personally have never heard or felt detonation first hand but I was just wondering if anyone ever experienced it can let me know how detonation actually sounds like and or feels like so I can better identify the noise.

Detonation sounds like a marbles rolling inside the metal can.It could be more pronounced under the load(going uphill).If you can plug a scanner and follow the PIDs you will know for sure.

 

Check your sparkplugs for little aluminium fragment, you will need a magnifier with a light for better result.

Can also look in cylinder with a camera, look for shiny spot on your piston.
