Engine dead while driving 2010 Honda Accord
Last month I had a problem starting by 2010 Honda Accord and I got a the battery diagnosed and replaced it later after 1 month the battery stopped charging and when I again diognised the battery the battery turned out to be fine but it's not charging when I again jump started the vehical it started working normally and after a week I again had problems starting the vehical and did a jump start this time It started but in less than half mile engine stopped in middle of the road and steering wheel got stuck and the breaks stopped working and I had to pull the hand break and slowly get the car to stop in the middle of the road as I can steer it to the side . I want to understand with this sort of experience is it still safe to drive my 2010 Honda Accord
My first guess is maybe the main charging fuse is blown. It's important if you drive the car to make sure when the car dies that you do not turn the key away from the on position or you will lock the steering wheel and that will prevent you from steering the car however I would not drive the car while it's doing this. You need to get it diagnosed.
It's possible that the alternator is bad but normally the charging light will turn on while you're driving to let you know that the vehicle is not charging properly. You could try checking for any stored engine codes.

Thank you for your reply do you think steering wheel getting stuck and break not working is a common problem when alternator goes bad ? Or do I need to take it to dealership for proper diagnostics . I not suspecting alternator as its charging the battery sometimes and failing some times is it the circuit/wiring that is causing this charging problem ?
completely normal
Took this to Honda dealership battery , alternator and drain test checked out good ... Still not sure what's going on with my vehical any suggestions or options on how to go with this ?
Not teasing you or so, Are giving time to the alternator to charge the battery? don't run the car for less than 10 minutes.
this is not the case... have the guy in the dealership checked all wire connections?
this sounds as brocken/loose groung cable connection. as an intermitent event under engine vibration, loose conection is sometimese apearing and magically dissapearing.
As follow steps in dealerships all arround the world underestimate (DON'T UNPLUG ANYTHING YET):
After checking all main fuses (Above 20A), under dash and hood, and no electrical wiring knowledge skip to step 5.
Step 1
Check +/- on batery is conected tight.
Check +/- on Alternator is conected tight.
(-) Huge black cable connected from battery to chassis, Alternator to Chassis.
(+) normally yellow or white, or combination of both, Battery Alternator to Harness.
Step 2
Check mass on alternator/ battery, all the black cables (MASS/GND) are tight torqued to the chasis, if you have a loose connection, Unbolt and sand blast the area 1/2 arround the Bolt, torque the bolt and good to go.
Step 3
Worst case scenario, now you will need to unplug.
Loose connector pin, this is hard, but gheto is take a pencill and a notebook write the collors of the cables running out the Alternator,
chase all cables and the plugs the cables pass thru. you are looking for loose connection in the plugs. you need to press with thin players the female pins. Then plug again.
Step 4
Faulty soldering in some circuit, inside alternator voltage regulator, Fuse board, many places...
I hope is not that.
Step 5
With all the respect, after working in Honda motorbike dealerschip for 7 years, Still thou this is gonna sound rude.
You need someone to find the real cause without fancy Honda gadgets, uncashing your budget X $$ per hour.
Take the car to an old school car electrical specialist and tell him the problemz without the brake steering loss as he will dig most in that.
Simply say your batery won't charge. Please check the wiring for me.
I use to have such issues in winter, when is below -15 degrees Celsius, but not in summer.
Simple explanation, Batery END connection is Lead, Wire to batery conector is Steel or Copper. Each material have diferent dilatation distorsions when heated/cooled.
Cool down both and steel get loose over the copper or lead.
wish you luck.
