Engine cutting out...
I swapped a 99 Ex motor into my 92 vx hatch. Now when the car is cold and in closed look it acts like there is a vaccume leak and it reevs itself from 1500 to about 2000. I cleaned out the IACV and it still does it. I checked codes and it said IACV and the heated O2 sensor are not functioning right. Now i know that the o2 sensor will not work since it is a 5 wire. Does anyone know what i can do about puting a 4 wire in? The plug for a 4 wire is different than a 5 wire, right? Could the falty o2 sensor be causing this? Thanks for all of the help.
yes get the correct o2 sensor
Also after the car is warmed up at 1500 rpms it will bounce to 1600 rpms or so relatively quickly. I unhooked the TPS and it goes away but then the engine will not rev higher than 2000 rpm.
Also i do not have the IAT sensor hooked up. Is it vital for it to be kooked up?
Thanks, the help is greatly appreciated.
What do you mean how do you hook it up? It should be plug and play if its the correct o2 sensor. Why is your car idle at 1500? Do you know how to adjust your idle? Unhook the TPS and adjust the TPS screw.... i cant remember exaclty how to do it because I got my radio stolen today... got to much **** on my head.... if I remember, i'll let you know..
