Engine Code question
those are serial numbers. i believe the only way to find out what year motor that is through the number are through computer (honda, dmv, etc...)
if you have a longblock look at the head, right above the exhaust manifold. there will be little circles with numbers. it will have the year on there. say a 1999 would have something like (9/9)

That's the engine serial #. I've heard that the first digit is based on the model-year, from when the engine was first available. So that would be the 7th year for a USDM type R engine????? So either my understanding is wrong, or you just made up that number...

i don't believe this is right. lol
they are simply serial #'s. an identity for your motor. (ie. social secrurity)
