What are the numbers underneath the code and how can you tell what year the motor is?

to the thread maker, i don't know what those numbers are, but hopefully somebody will help you out.

 

I believe that those numbers are the serial number of the engine. But I need someone else to verify/disprove this.

correct

 

the first number indicates the year of the block. for example a 94 gsr would start with a 1. it would read like this

1653479 a 95 would start with a 2. hope this helps.
