Engine clicks or knocking after warm-up
I just put together my 95 GSR with some CTR pistons that are over bore by 0.25MM brand new bearings crank and rods. new arp rod bolts the stock valves with skunk2 valve springs new stock valve sets retainers valve cotters. the motor started fine and ran for about 30 min. before I cut it off. I started it the next day and ran it for a while giving it a little rev listening to the exhaust. the third day a buddy was over and I hit the throttle cable and rev'd it, then I hit it quick but I herd what sounded like a valve hitting the piston but it still runs good and not missing. the next day I adjusted the valves to .006 intake and .007 exhaust. started it up and it ran fine again hit the throttle cable hard and it did not do it but when it warms up it does it again. now I think I hear a knocking noise but it may just be me. oh and it does not do it when you hit the throttle slow and rev it up. any suggestions as to what may be going on would be appreciated.
and i have 310 rc injectors w/ walbro 255 intank fuel pump

what kind of bearings did you use? when you had the new ARP rod bolts installed did your machine shop measure the big ends for out of roundness?
is the knock constantly there when the engine is idling?
maybe re-check your valve adjustment maybe one of them came loose or you didn't tighten the nut enough on one of them?
or you may be looking at a rod knock? spun bearing?
drain the oil and see if you can see any metal filings in there.......also maybe have the oil filter cut open and check for anything unusual. if you don't have a proper oil filter cutting tool take it so someone who does.
good luck

same here, when i revved the motor slowly the motor wont make that knockin noise, but when its hit from idle to full throtle makes a funny knockin noise, does it need valve adjustment or i broke something? i will be checking for unusual stuff on my next oil change.
Well **** the bed you guys, lesson learned. When you have a built motor and high compression along with a walbro 255 intank and rc 310 injectors when the fuel level gets to 1/4 tank it runs like **** and you need to fill up with some good 'ol high octane gas, now it runs good idle is a lil off but I have to tune my vafc now its running really rich.
thanks for input and if it ***** up again ill let ya know it was not gas.
