Default Engine Building Help B18B

I have a B18 Ls block and head, I'm looking to do a minor engine build, I spun a rod bearing, and damaged my intake cam. So my question is should I get a new set of aftermarket ls cams, or should I just stick a gsr head on it. And for pistons and rods what should I use? I don't plan on sleeving the block. I was thinking fairly high compression with nitrous as a power adder. I'l like your guys input on this

Bro - Your ls motor is nice!!! you can hang with Type Rs easily... without VTEC!!!

Check that out. Get some non-type R JDM B16 pistons, and crower 403's. ( valve springs, retainers too) , port the head out and get some headers and intake manifold and EMS stuff. But that should be pretty FAST!!! and cheap

Might want new bearings and rods arent a bad idea either

ok here- if you plan on turbo at all, then build for it now. 9:1 compression, bla bla bla. if you are intent on using nitrous, then i would get forged pistons as well, just because its easy to do when the motor is apart, and you will be able to run a larger shot safer, adding to peace of mind

the cost of a b16 head is much less than that of aftermarket cams and valvetrain, but it will change your powerband entirely, just keep that in mind. honestly ive heard people say stay ls it has mad torque, but on my ls running 10psi of boost, i have no traction. id trade a lil bit of tq for some more hp and traction any day. if you do stay ls and go nitrous, get some pistons in the 10.5-11:1 compression range, and the crower cams are nice as well. either way when you have the bottom end built up, it wouldnt be a bad idea at all to get it balanced, to help meet the higher revs of either the cams or the vtec head. also good time to use aftermarket headstuds, and for all the other gaskets and ****, i would stay with oem

Cool thanxs for the help. Got a few more questions. To be more specific my goal is for mid to low 13's The engine's going into an 93 civic coupe. as for parts I was thinking using a b16 tranny, apex afc2, fuel pump, rail and injectors, running forged b16 pistons and forged rods, not sure on what type of rings for an unsleeved block though, and maybe trying a 75-100 shot? And I have no idea what ecu or head to run. The car itself is stripped completly, interior, front bumper, any uneeded brackets etc. and I want it to be semi-streetable. (semi meaning go and stop I'm wondering if I'm atleast on the right track, or should I go a completly separate route?
