Default Engine break in? Tuning?

Ok, my motor is currently being built. It consists of a GE sleeved open deck H22, 9 to 1 compression pistons and pauter rods. Everything else is stock. This is going to be dropped into my 92 CX hatch. I spoke to a tuner about breaking it in on a dyno and he told me that I didn't need to tow it to him. He told me since the only thing that's different on this motor is the compression, the stock P13 should run it fine. Now my question is, Is it safe to drive on the honda ecu to the tuner(1.5hrs away)? Could I break it in with a stock ecu on? I'm taking it to my tuner so he can tune my AEM EMS. This is completely NA. Thanks in advance guys.

If everything is stock, you're using a stock ECU, you should be fine. It would be nice if you have a wideband o2 handy though, just to make sure your AFR is good. The only thing I would do is make sure that your timing is set to stock.

Whats the stock compression on a H22? I don't know if the stock ECU will be able to correctly compensate for the change in compression, I guess that's really what you have to find out. You don't want to be running too lean or rich on a newly built motor where things aren't broken in yet.

Yeah, 9:1 isn't detonation prone like 12.5:1. Pull a little timing out, add a couple lbs of fuel pressure and drive it.

Try around 45 psi and see how it runs.
