electrical problem...need help!!
i have a 1991 acura integra ls...the problem is that when i try to turn the motor, the starter clicks once and then does nothing...if we push start the car i will work, but will not start with the key...i have tried to to run the signal to the starter straight from the battery, also have tried about 4 starters thinking that is the problem
, but nothing works. i tested the black/white wire under the dash and it powers up when the key is put in the start position, but when i test the same wire at the starter i don't get no power...if anyone has had this problem or anything like it please help.......thanks in advance

Turn your headlights on and then try to start it. If your headlights drop to almost nothing then your starter is being supplied with adequate power and either it's fragged or it's jamming against the flywheel. To test the later put the car in gear with it off(of course) and rock it back and forth a bit or tap the starter casing lightly with a hammer. If it still won't start after that then remove the starter and inspect the pinion gear. Eventually the solenoid spring gets tired and just doesn't properly engage the gear to the fly anymore.
Sorry I didn't read your entire post before shooting off my mouth. If you've already tried a few different starters did you have a look see at the flywheel teeth? Perhaps they're damaged to the point they're not allowing the starter to engage.

chase the black/white wire, that sounds like the problem so far. its dropping the voltage somewhere.

sounds like a bad battery, or battery connection, or a bad ground wire to the motor... have someone check for a spark at all the major connections when you try to start the engine. (it will only spark when you hear the click if this is what it is.) If you do see a spark, this is where your bad connection is!

I have had the same exact problem a few times. IF you get NO power AT ALL. Then you have a bad connection at the batt. ground or a bad neg batt. cable.
Try wiggling the neg cable see what happens and check where it bolts to frame rail for rust or corrosion.
