Default electrical and 02 sensors questions.

Ok Hi, im very new to this forum, I have a 95 civic ex and im amazed by all the information I can learn here. I am stumped on a few things of my own and wondered if maybe someone could help me understand alil more.

First problem is. My headlights wont turn on for somereason. The bulbs arent burnt. and the fuses are good.. The switch for the headlight just wont do anything, not even my dash lights up. Any ideas?

Second, my car will not rev past 3.5, and I changed the ECU so i kno its not that. My friend told me its a 80% chance its the 02 sensors, Now how could I check those or change them?

I know, i dont know much about my civic as of yet but im extremly dedicated to learn!

Thank you.

First problem... Sounds like the headlight switch is shot if you are sure all the fuses are OK.

Second problem... The O2 sensor will not limit the RPM to 3500 RPM. You've got some other issues going on there. Maybe timing is way off or an ignition problem?

Yea first problem sounds like the combination switch...
The second problem isn't your oxygen sensor.... For some reason your car is running in limp mode... Does your car have a constant CEL?? If you changed ECU then I would see the problem probably lying somewhere in the distributor or the distributors wiring... If you have any codes (4, 8, 9) then definately check into what i just said... 4 is a CKP code, 8 is a TDC, and 9 is a CYP... If you have another distributor to test that's the first thing i would do... If you still have the same problems after that then i'm thinkin either the ECU again or the wiring.... Good Luck

thanx everyone, It was the distrubters wiring.. one was loose.. I think when they convereted my distrub from a OBD2 to a OBD1 the monkey didnt tape it correctly.

And for the headlights, that was a missing fuse that we over looked lastnight. Got it working fine now everything is in top condition once again. Thank you to everyone who replied!
