Default EGT needle acting goofy .... electrical interference???

When I hit the brakes the needle jumps down a bit and kinda shakes in that position. If I turn the turn signal on, it jump back and forth from no reading at all to the correct reading. If I turn teh headlights on, it goes to zero and stays there until teh lights are off again.

Anybody have this problem? Its annoying as hell as my EGT gauge is useless at night.

Anybody have a solution to this?

TIA!

EDIT: I have a autometer Z series EGT gauge. It is BRAND NEW.

recheck your grounds as well as any wire coming out of the gauge ..there may be a break in it or a fray ....but most likly bad ground
