Default which ecu would I need

I already have a chipped obd-1 ecu. It is now no good for some reason. It doesn't turn my fuel pump. However when i bought it the sticker was scraped off. My ? is what years and models do I need. I'm assuming I'll need to get it socketed to take my tuned chip. Can it be from an auto tranny car, or only manual? If I get a auto trans ecu can it be modified to run right with my setup. It's an ek with an obd-1 conversion, just need another ecu to take my chip. Thanks for any help in advance.
Need this to get my only car up and running agian. Yes it is a bad ecu. Did test and even swapped ecu for the stock and pump turns right on.
