Default ECU serial #, what type of ECU is this?

Besides it being a P28, is it auto or manual and what model car?

37820-P28-A01

Thanks

its a 5speed P28 ecu.
The "A01" is the dead giveaway.

what model is it from? well its either from an 92-95 EX coupe or Si hatchback. EX/Si's all use a P28 ecu since P28's are the designated ecu to operate the D16Z6 engine.

ok, then what is an A52?

I have a Mini convesion on my CRX, but this A01 ECU will not start the car, where the A52 that I use on the integra will. Does that mean the ECU is BAD, can it be repaired?

thanks

The A52 is an automatic ECU, and unless it has been converted to manual, you should be getting a CEL. There is no reason why the A52 would allow the car to start where the A01 won't, unless the A01 is defective. It sounds like the transistor that drives the ignitor has gone bad. Check to see if you have spark. I myself, or one of the other members here who deal with ECUs should be able to repair it.

i bought a p72 ecu not that long ago, it has a barcode. supposedly the barcode is like a serial number. where can you go to check to see if the ecu is legit? or that is not a problem.

I've never tried to see if an ecu is 'legit' personally.
You might wanna try the Acura dealership for starters.

maybe im wrong but i've heard that a lot like most items on the car, they can be traced, well not if the serial number is taken off. the ecu is a pretty high price item, at the dealer that is.

well the A52 must have been converted, cause that is the one I use on the integra.

Can the A01 be repaired if it is bad or it is pretty much dead?

i have a question, i have a dohc zc and im using a 89 teg ecu (37820-pg7-6640) but now mycar won't start. i was thinking that maybe it was because i switched to using a 92-95 civic alternator. could that be it?

The alternator only charges the battery, if it won't start with a fresh battery, then the problem is not the alternator.
