Default Is this ecu salvagable?

Got this p28 from a buddy of mine.. and its damaged - you can see some burn marks on the board and whatever the little pice sticking up is is fried.

Is it salvagable? TIA

Yep, it's salvageable. $20 plus shipping is my going rate.

q31 is the burn piece?. If so, cool deal. Ill do it. If I do break it off, will it present problems with things like the IAT?

EVAP Purge solenoid, not EGR.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jdmhatchness &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i never have probs after that mostly every obd1 p28 or p72 i take q31 out they burn up alwayz just take it out itll run fine </TD></TR></TABLE>

They only burn out when the IAT and EVAP Purge connectors are swapped.

If your state has strict emissions standards, you may need Q31 functional. If not, you should be fine.

after you take that out, do you still have a check engine light?

If you have the EVAP and IAT plugs swapped, yes. You most likely have melted your IAT sensor and need a new one if that is what happened.
