Im running a stock GS-R ECU right now but my friend that built my motor says i should go with a P28 ecu (mugen spec) but my other friend says i should go with Hondata hook it up to my GS-R and play with it. what do you guys think? i like hondata but then i have to go get it tuned properly but my friends friends are running 11 with just the P28...
Hah, i just remembered that KATMAN visits here sometimes so i put it in the title.. Can you help KATMAN..?

I know this question is for Katman but personally i would go with Hondata... There is a lot more flexibility in tuning which is good for a built motor... What is all done to your GSR??? A chipped P28 just has the conveniences of no KS input and upgraded timing and fuel maps.... A VAFC is more tunable than a chipped ECU that's why i just say go with Hondata...
Hondata is fully controllable system. The chipped ecu is set and that's it. The chipped ecu may not make your motor run the most effective because the program was tunned for someone else's motor.
eitherway, either chip your GSR ecu if OBDI or purchase a chipped ecu.
from the dynos I have done of my chips, Mugen does very well on B18C1 and C5, even if it doesn't control IAB, its able to shave off about .2-.4 off a 1/4 with a GSR
as the rev limit is slightly too low.
as far as hondata, its an excellent tool, but without proper tuning and time, its usless.
for more info, look below.
