ECU Fuse - Keeps blowing
Car - 1989 Civic running OBD1
Motor - 2000 GSR running OBD1
ECU - Chipped P06 with vtech added (basically a p28)
I got my motor running with only one code, number 9 for CYP.
I revved it up under no load to check if I was still in limp mode, and I wasn't it went up to I'm guessing 7k very quick. It blew the ECU fuse. I changed the fuse and took it for a quick drive. Drove around the block keeping it under 3500 rpm, then i gave it a little more probably to around 5k and it blew the ECU fuse again. I tried to put a new fuse in but it now instantly blows any fuse I put in the ECU slot.
I'm guessing maybe it's blowing the fuses when I hit vtech? I dont think it's the ECU because I also have a stock P28 that I tried a few weeks ago, and it blew the fuse when I used that one.
Any ideas?

I took off the fuse box, replaced fuses. Connected the wires one at a time to see at what point it blows. The battery wire went on, then the wire to the alternator. Fuse is still good. Then there are the 3 wires on the other side, the one closest to the battery/alternator wires went on, then i put the middle of the three on and the fuse popped. Any ideas, anyone?

I just got back from my girlfriends cabin so I didn't fix it, but i could see a cable that i had for power laying on the header, obviously mealted. That's what must be shorting it out. I'll patch it up tomorrow should fix the problem. I'll post tomorrow after the attempt.
Glad I could help. The nerve of some people. Every technician can laugh at some instance when a friend, family member, Honda tech member, customer, whoever has set in front of them and argued against whatever subject they originally sought the technicians expert opinion of. I usually end most of these arguments with Well it looks like you know more than me so ... If you seek advise, be humble and gracious. When you set out to be a jackass usually you will be one. Courtesy is free. You can give it away.
