i have a 91 integra and recently removed my dash/gauge cluster, etc. to get ready for an aluminum race dash. problem is now my ecu throws a code 17 cuz my speed sensor isnt plugged into anything and it makes it so i cant start the car unless i pop the clutch. anyone know how i get around this???? the dash i'm going to install just has an RPM tach, water/oil/fuel gauges but no speedo.........any help would be appreciated. peace!!!

 

Since the 91 integra computer gets the vehicle speed reading from the spedometer, there is no way for the computer to see the vehicle speed since you have no cluster. A simple solution is to put a 92 and up speed sensor in the transmission. The 92 up speed sensor sends the signal directly to the ECU.

 

will i need to upgrade to a 92-93 ecu????
