ECU chipping removal help plz.
ok i have some crappy DIY "mugen" ECU Chip in my PR3 ecu with a 4000 RPM vtec x-over and 8000 rpm redline with increased fuel mapping and i hate it, the previous owner had it installed a while back and the vtec crossover is wayy to early and i believe the increased fuel links to my very rough idle and delayed throttle response.... anyway..... I dont really want to buy a whole new ECU i was wondering if all of these chips are soldered in or if i can simply remove it.... but if i cant, hell, the $150 will be worth it.... thanks in a advance for your advice
Check out Hondata's website, the installation instructions. You should be able to tell what you need to do. I believe that if you remove the jumper at J1, the ECU reverts back to it's original program.
cool thanks man..... hey saw your signature and i was thinking of investing in some skunk2 stage IIs myself how do you like them? what are you shifting at?
The cams work pretty well. I'm tinkering with the tuning to get more power. Redline on the ECU I am running is 9,200 rpm.
