Default ecu/chip problem

I have a 98 civic ex. I had an engine swap and now i have a (si 2000) b16a2 but when i swapped the motors my wiring harness from the b16a2 didnt work right. So now im using my old sohc ecu and wiring harness instead of my b16 ecu and wiring harness. It works fine and all but my rev limit is only at 7k rpm instead of 8200 like it is supposed to, so i really only have the d16specs. I need to know if i can buy a chip and maybe have it saudered and still use my d16 wiring harness, Im not sure what to do. thanks for your time

huh? What harnesses are you talking about? Engine/chassis/conversion?

Soldered, and if it's an OBD1 vtec ecu, yes it can be remapped to run the B16.

the ecu is your problem, you need a dohc vtec ecu or you need to convert to obd1 and chip one
