ect wire in dash
ok so i started my ap1 cluster retrofit in my civc a few months back and havent installed the temp fix chip i know how tio hook it up but my problem is i dont know what wire in the cluster harness is the feed for the temp or ECT wire i have a 96 civic. if you could just tell me what pin number it is that would be great
Just trace it. Im sure you have a multi meter. find the coolant temp gauge on the back of the cluster. you will see three screws. one is power one is ground and the other is signal. the power and grounds will be connected to other screws on the back of the dash. and the signal will be the isolated pin. you can verify the power and ground by checking with you multi meter. don't get thrown off by touching the signal and either power or ground. by doing that you will get a voltage cause the signal is a resistance/voltage itself. you will need to find the system(battery) voltage.
