Default e-brake locked up

Well, the hatchcrap has been grounded, and when i tried to drive it today, i realized i wasnt going anywhere because the e-brake is locked up.

what is the best way to fix this. I love cars

try to hit your drum or caliper wit a hammer.

I dunno if you have drums or discs... If drums are the case, i heard there is a little hole in the back shield that allows a person to jam a screwdriver in and release the automatic e-brake adjuster. I have no clue what to do for discs.. sorry

just drive the car dragging the wheels and yank upa nd down on the ebrake cable..itll unfreeze

use a 2x4 and a hammer. it shouldnt take but a couple of shots to free the shoes up.

It could be the cable(s) sticking, so they don't release.

Or it could be the handbrake mechanism inside the caliper (or drum). If it's rusted & sticking, it won't release even if the cable is OK.

Have someone work the handbrake lever while you watch underneath the back. You'll have to figure out which it is.
