I know this is a dumb question, but i have looked at the only wiring diagram i have avaiable to me, and i can figure out for the life of me if the turn signal relay is housed in side the flasher or where it is. i hate to have to make a post this dumb, especially as i am taking the a6 electrical ASE tomorow but if someone could help me out i would greatly apreciate it. i know the switch sends power to the relay to make it switch to allow continuity, then the relay powers up the flasher (circut breaker), but is the relay inside the little box flasher???

 

This ain't a Ford. There is no "flasher" box. The flasher is controlled by the a cpu in the turn signal switch.
This is one reason why it is so easy to make then blink faster by changing the voltage of the bulb (smaller blub, small voltage, faster blink).

 

I just wanted to say that "This is a test question" treat it as one. It is only a lightbulb a switch and a flasher.

This is something you need to know. Please don't cheat yourself. You can figure this out.

 

thanks for the support thesmogman, i think i have it figured out. i didnt realize that full voltage went through the turn signal switch, i thought there was a relay that the switch was controling. i was thinking this cause alldata has a time for the turn signal relay, and then also a time for the hazzard flasher, but they are the same part according to pictures in the program. this is why i was thinking there was a relay in the little 3 terminal flasher (i called it a box denvull, cause it is a box). after looking at the wiring diagram again, i have it understood now, i think i got to rapped up in thinking i was missing something, even though it is a extremley simple circut. anyways, thaks for the help
