driving in the rain with CAI...
I just recently switched over to a CAI from a short ram...I had no choice but to drive to work in the rain without the fender lining to cover my filter...when I parked, I looked at the filter and it was dripping wet...any bad side effects to this??
As long as you don't floor it when running through water or go through 3ft of water you should be all right.Or you can just get a bypass valve and be really sure.
As long as the engine doesn't die you should be okay. After you stop you may want to run the engine at idle foor a minute or so just to be sure that it doesn't intake any water without exhausting it.
REPLACE THE FENDER LINING IMMEDIATELY ! ! !
Here is why you should NOT drive w/ a CAI and no fender lining:

If you have to, then just be careful. The instant that thing starts to sputter, turn it off and park it!
