Drives like CRAP
So i just got done swapping a b16 into my eghatch. I had a problem with the distributor, i replaced it and it started right up. It has a really bad rolling idle, that goes really quick, and its throwing a code for the IAC valve, so i disconnected it, and it is idling a little smoother, but still to high to set the timing. So i went to go for atest drive, and it just ran like absolute crap. as soon as i let the clutch out it starts bucking and jerking like crazy, so i press the clutch in, idles fine, i try to get out of first again, it just starts bucking and jerking, i lay on the gas a little, and it bucks the whole way up to 5k rpm. so i let the clutch out and try to drive back into my driveway. the only code is the one for the IAC, so i cant figure out what the hell is wrong? I tried disconnecting the tps, to see if it changed anything, then it just wouldnt rev past 3k, so i know the tps is sending some sort of signal, but is it possible that when i put it back on i put it on wrong? Also, there was no MAP sensor on the throttle body, so i took my old one off my single cam, and ran a vaccum line to it and plugged in the connector. someone please help, im stumped!
did you change out the ecu as well? did you check the cam timing and everything? i have no idea why it would throw a IAC code, but i really don't think that your IAC is causing those kinds of problems...
yeah, i didnt think that the IAC would be causing those problems either, thats what my problem was. I didnt check the cam timing, because i didnt change the timing belt or anything. I am running a phareable.net ecu chipped for a stock b16
so i tried taking the tps off of the throttle body, and put it back on. It didnt do anything. as soon as you get to 1500-2000 it just starts breaking up. (revving up and down), then if you give it a little more throttle, it gets past it and revs ok. what the hell????? i went to check the timing, but it is reving at like 1k, so i wont be able to adjust it to acuratly. I have a question, do i want to turn the distributor till the tdc mark (white mark) on the crank is right at the pointer on the lower timing cover, or do i want to line it up with the red mark? I set the timing gun pointer deal at 16...
