Default driveaxle experience

How many people here brake axles in non-race situations? I was just going into third pretty hard and snapped the passenger side axle. Have had the car on the road with the B16 for only a week. Brand new axle from a low budget parts chain.

Thanks-

That shouldn't happen. Hope you got the cheapo lifetime warranty ones. Is your car slammed? That could affect the angle and make them more likely to snap. Where did yours snap at?

It broke about 2" up from the outboard joint. I took it in today and got a warranty replacement...the new one looks different; more polished near the seals and different finish on the shaft. My car is lowered, but not slammed. I am running the Eibach sport springs that have a 1.75" or so drop. Would NAPA be better than the others?

most people just get oem used from people on here or from a junk yard. that would be your best bet. i also heard raxles is pretty good. i do not recommend buying from pepboys, autozone, advanced and so on....... MY .02
