Default Is this dowel necessary???




upper right #23 i just assembled my b16a and totally forgot the put the dowel back in, is this a must? what will happen if i dont have it?

i would think that it holds some important use, its in your engine. i wouldnt drive without it, if it was me.

It's not a must, but it does keep the cam caps and journals perfectly held under high temperatures and vibrations. I would put it back in.

Better safe than sorry.

Wrong dowel pin. That one holds the oil pressure o ring in place so that the cams get proper lubrication.
