did u check your CEL's and see what codes your coming up with? if u have a code for Knock Sensor (23 i think) than that's ur prob, because without a knock sensor to serve it's purpose VTEC will Xover but the car will bog out so much you won't feel a think, too much knock in engine. hook up the knock sensor and that should solve your problems

I gotta disagree with you on that delseeya... sorry but i've had a KNOCK SENSOR CEL on my ls'vtec it was fine it still engaged... Try checking your wiring and as for the knock maybe delseeya's right i don't know but i've had a KNOCK CEL my vtec still worked... you can easily mount your knock sensor like under your ALTERNATOR bracket...

IF you would like i could give you the wiring that you should have your vtec ran to and your pressure switch... just hit me up your car model..

I had a knock sensor problem before It would engage, but would bog itself down terribly. I agree with DC2-guy check ur cels and see what codes ur throwing

Only thing i can think of for you is speed sensor i think if speed sensor(on the tranny) is messed up your vtec will not engage(had this problem with my gsr).. also wiring like i told you before if you would like i can look in the books at honda and i'll give you the right wiring(ecu pinouts) for the vtec and pressure switch..tell me what kind of car you got.

also if you say your not feeling vtec its probably cause its kicking in at 4500 due to its a p72 and it laggs til like 5800 when the 2nd butterflies open up.... i dunno listen to it dont feel it lol... you can tell if vtec hits or not you dont have to feel it..

92gsrhb i agree, cuz the same thing happened with my firnds ls/vtec when we did it, it would hit vtec and u'd hear and feel it tiny bit but not much due to once it got past vtec it'd bog itself to all hell, lol, i taped and rethreaded the upper alternator bolt that goes to the block and stuck a knock sensor in and that ls/vtec hatch ran it's lil hind off.

Forsure you need the knock sensor in it. Look up your CEL codes and if there is a code for one, you need it.

I disagree with all of you, I have a knock sensor cel, and VTEC still engages perfectly. This is with a stock p61, on a stock B17a

Edit: Also it doesn't bog once VTEC is engaged.
